Get to Know the Wadden Sea
If you want to take your students on an active and educational school trip, a sailing trip on the Wadden Sea is the thing to do. Our home port Harlingen is where the voyage to the islands starts which leads us through this very special UNESCO World Heritage (for more information go to waddensea-worldheritage.org). The Wadden Sea is the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world, drying up during low tide and revealing an otherwise hidden world of flora and fauna. Your students experience this region with nothing but the sound of the wind and the water and the cries of the seabirds to free their thoughts from their daily hassle. En route, you will absolutely spot seals. With instructions from our experienced crew you and your students will learn how to sail the Spes Mea. During this week we will be able to let the ship dry up on a sandbank. This is a very special experience, only topped by the adventure of walking across the bottom of the Wadden Sea.
A school trip can be organised to your own liking, sailing isn’t the only option. Hiking and bicycling are very popular activities as well, so is a trip to a museum, sports or just enjoying the beach.
If your group consists of more than 20 students, we can arrange for a second ship and sail together as a fleet. We offer a galley equipped with everything you need as a chef: a gas stove with 6 burners, a large refrigerator and everything else you need for cooking a tasty meal. Below deck there is a large comfortable salon with two spacious tables. All cabins have a washbasin with hot water. Furthermore there are two toilets and two showers aboard.
The experience of many years that we have with youth groups, the great sailing region and our comfortable ship turn your school trip into an unforgettable experience. Usually a five days’ trip is chosen but you can also decide on a four days’ trip or even shorter. Our season starts at the beginning of April and lasts until the end of October. Price of the ship: approx. € 34,– per student per day
